Studio 72 Design are a small collaborative studio of artists and designers who work on a wide range of visual material from TV and film to graphics, artwork and sculpture. Inevitably, at Studio 72 there are some petrol-heads...many of which seem to have an inexplicable leaning towards air-cooled Porsches! The print designs that form the basis of this collection reflect that.
In this series of artworks the perception of the viewer changes with viewing distance. View close up and the image appears to be a collection of random ink dots, further away and the image becomes clear. This cleverly makes the image both photographic and semi-abstract at the same time.
The feature colour on many of the prints is taken from the original paint colour records.
