Alexander EVANS

Handmade 24 Hour Watch | Le Mans 1969 | Ford GT40 Art

£995.00 Sold out

Handmade by Alexander Evans, English miniaturist and watchmaker.  Each watch has an original hand-painted miniature motorsport artwork on the Argentium silver dial, so small all work is carried out under the microscope.

The "A Race Against Time" Series pays homage to iconic racing cars associated with specific 24 hour motor races and circuits, not just in a purely artistic way with the dial's hand painted miniature artwork and graphics but also in a functional way with a 24 hour watch mechanism and unique hour markers.

The '24' theme is continued by strictly limiting the number of watches in each design to a maximum of 24 with each one individually numbered on the dial and case.

Case diameter: 42mm (excluding crown)

Alexander EVANS

Watchmaker and minaturist Alexander Evans has for most of his working life earned a living in both artistic and engineering fields. Alexander never felt he should commit himself to purely one or another as both held equal interest and needed very different skills that he wanted to learn and explore.

In recent years he finally discovered that he can actually combine his two supposedly opposite careers in one - that of watch making and specifically that of making Art Watches. The satisfaction of creating unique genres of work that would be otherwise impossible to do without combining both working practices is immensely rewarding as is knowing how much people enjoy seeing and owning the work.
