Gary SMITH

Jaguar XK120 Sculpture

£3,200.00

Bronze sculpture by Gary Smith showing one of the works entries for the 1950 Le Mans 24 hours race. Leslie Johnson driving car no. 17.

This was Jaguar’s first Le Mans, fielding virtually standard cars, up against the racers and specials of the top teams.

They got up to second place but unfortunately did not finish due to clutch failure. This was a shot across the bows for the established teams and the start of Jaguar’s racing success – they went on to win Le Mans seven times.

A limited edition of just 9 pieces.

Overall size (cm): 36.0 x 19.0 | Weight: 12kg.
