Original Painting of Peter Collins on the heels of Fangio at the 1956 German GP. Collins was a rising star with a glamorous life style to match and much liked by Enzo Ferrari. His sportsmanship and driving skills were also endearing. During his first season for Ferrari, in 1956, he scored memorable wins at Spa in Belgium and in France. Going into the final round, the Italian GP at Monza, he had a chance of winning the World Championship. His main rival was Ferrari team mate Juan Manuel Fangio, the greatest driver of the 1950s and already a three-time World Champion. Fangio retired with steering problems before half distance, gifting Collins his big chance.
In those days, drivers were allowed to hand over their cars to teammates, particularly if they were senior. In a remarkable act of sportsmanship, Collins gave his car to Fangio. The great Argentinian duly finished second in the race to Stirling Moss's Maserati, shared the points with Collins, and won his fourth world title.
'I was moved almost to tears by the gesture,' Fangio later said. At just 24 years old, Collins reckoned he'd have other opportunities. It was not to be.

Neil’s first national exhibition was at the RAC Art of Motoring in 2016 where his water colours found a ready market. Since then he has developed both his style and his client base. The clean lines of Neil’s pictures reflect a lifetime in design disciplines. The translucent and free flowing qualities of water colour give an immediacy to Neil’s work.
“I get an enormous amount of pleasure from researching and planning my paintings. Old photographs are fascinating, and I love to translate old black-and-white photographs into colour with my artwork. Every photograph has a narrative – sometimes obvious, sometimes hidden. I like to have this in my paintings".

DHL Express typically 1-2 days and Royal Mail 5-7 days under normal circumstances.
