Dusenburg Racer | Art Print

Limited Edition Print

This Dusenburg Racer was one of seven built by the company for racing in the US and is the only one to survive. It was brought over to Brooklands in 1934 to attack the track lap record, in which it was ultimately unsuccessful (it achieved the second fastest time at that point and subsequently others did beat it) - it still managed to have the 5th fastest time by the end of the tracks use in 1939. It raced throughout the late 30s at the track, often achieving an average lap speed of 130 mph. The car and its 4.5 litre Clemons engine were separated after the war until Denis Jenkinson brought them back together, loaning and then subsequently bequeathing them to the Brooklands Museum. The car is on display there and the engine and gearbox are currently undergoing restoration. We believe the plan is for the museum to be able to demonstrate the car once all the work is complete.
This collection of artworks by Adam Gompertz homages the Canson Renderings of the 1950's and 1960's American designers. These designers used the coloured Canson ™ coloured paper as the base tone of the illustration enabling highlights to be shown very effectively in the design studio.
