Tim Layzell is well known for his pop-art paintings. In this painting "Mexican Storm" Layzell depicts Pedro Rodriguez skates his Porsche 917 sliding down through Paddock Hill bend alongside Jacky Ickx’s Ferrari 512S on his way to victory in the BOAC 1000km at Brands Hatch in 1970. Rodriguez was black-flagged by the Clerk of the Course for dangerous driving early in the race. Having come into the pits to be told off (!) Pedro proceeded to give spectators, drivers and officials alike a driving lesson, eventually beating the field by some five laps and laying claim to being the greatest wet-weather driver the world has ever seen.⠀
